Javier Hernandez Thanks Jose Mourinho for His Latest Comments

Mexican international Javier Hernandez has thanked Jose Mourinho in response to the manager’s statements that he would like to have a similar player in the squad right now.

Hernandez was an £ 8 million purchase by Sir Alex Ferguson. Despite having an excellent goals-to-game ratio, he was unable to find a place at the club. This led to the move to Bayern Leverkusen, where he has excelled in the last few years. In his time at United, Hernandez managed to contribute 37 goals in 103 games for the club. Mourinho’s comments have certainly come as a surprise considering that the club already possess Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has scored 28 goals in all competitions.

Yet, Mourinho is understood to be deeply disappointed with the lack of contribution from the other strikers at the club. Players like Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, and Wayne Rooney have been a huge disappointment.

The three players have contributed a combined nine goals, and it has been one of the primary reasons behind the club sitting well below the top four places. United will struggle to finish in the top four – despite being only four points behind Manchester City – unless other teams dropped points from now till the end of the season.

“What I can say is that we tried, we had six players, for me, absolutely phenomenal in their game, in their attitude, in their mentality, in their consistency – Valencia, Bailly, Rojo, Young, Carrick and Fellaini. Then you have four creative players, four players who you need to score a goal for you, and they didn’t.They had flashes, they had glimpses, they had moments but they don’t have consistency, and we pay two more points for that,” said Mourinho in response to the lack of goals. Manchester United have drawn five out of the last six league matches at Old Trafford.
